About Us

More than just a place to pump gas, we are a hub for everyone to enjoy- sort of like your one-stop-neighborhood-shop (or your grandma’s house).

When Minit Stop first opened its doors more than 34 years ago, it was with the simple idea of combining community and convenience. Lots of people don’t realize that in 1980 Minit Stop pioneered the first self-serve gas station on Maui, on Dairy Road.  That location is still in service today and it sits right in front of our Dairy Road Minit Stop store!

Today we are 17 stores strong and growing, with ten Minit Stops on Maui and seven on the Big Island. We promote community by being locally based and operated, taking an active part in the communities we serve, and spreading the Aloha spirit in all that we do.

Get rewarded for being a part of our ohana.

We focus on island neighborhoods rather than resort areas because we want to invest in creating safe, convenient, and friendly places for our friends and family to connect with each other. We see this business as an expression of ohana because it offers a way to strengthen the bonds of our island families.  Minit Stop is where residents go and visitors wish the guidebooks told them to go. (Do you know how much resorts charge for their mediocre fried chicken??)

In true kama’aina spirit, we offer Minit Stop Rewards, our free customer appreciation program, which offers instant savings on fuel and select items in our stores, redeemable points you can use to buy merchandise, and opportunities to win valuable coupons and prizes. You don’t need to go to Las Vegas to get lucky!

Nothing fancy here, just good island food, cooked like you would at home.

We believe consistently great taste and great value naturally go together, just like our famous Minit Stop Fried Chicken and Potato Wedges.  All of our locations offer hot food service and everything is made fresh daily on-site. Whether you need a fresh cup of coffee to go in the morning, freshly made lunch or dinner on the run, a quick snack when that inevitable craving hits, or a party platter for the big game, we’ve got you covered.  Spend time on what really matters, like your family, or that epic surf break.  Whether it’s your first stop or your last stop, make it Minit Stop.

Our History

In 1982, our first Minit Stop store opened its doors on Dairy Road in Kahului. At the time, we were the only convenience store on the Valley Isle to offer hot food service and onolicious Maui Fried Chicken and potato wedges.

Today we are 14 stores strong and growing, with nine Minit Stops on Maui and five on the Big Island. Each store offers an island menu of “home-cooked” entrees along with a wide variety of fresh salads and sandwiches daily. But our top best sellers are still our legendary Maui Fried Chicken and potato wedges!

Lots of people don’t realize that Minit Stop also pioneered the first self-serve gas station on Maui in 1978. Along with food service, these self-serve gas stations are still an integral part of our services. Presently, we fly two gas flags: Conoco Phillips 76 and Minit Stop branded gasoline. As a sister company of Maui Petroleum and Hawaii Petroleum, Minit Stop also offers gas redemption to Hawaii Fuel Network wholesale customers with HFN charge accounts.

Minit Stop is proud to be locally-based and locally-operated. We are also proud to take an active part in the communities we serve and are always looking for ways to spread the Aloha spirit, inside our stores and out. Ultimately, our goal is to become the people’s choice for local food and easy shopping, as well as one of the best places to work in the state.
